What it is

Academic Research Skills (ARS) is a set of Claude Code skills that turns the research workflow — literature review, writing, review, revision and finalisation — into an orchestrated pipeline. It is not meant to write the paper for you; it is meant to pin down the repetitive and easy-to-miss steps.

Four skill packs

Deep Research

Thirteen agents and seven modes: full research, quick brief, literature review, PRISMA systematic review, fact checking, Socratic guidance and pre-submission review.

Academic Paper

A twelve-agent writing pipeline covering full papers, outlines, abstracts, literature reviews, revision, citation checks, LaTeX/DOCX/PDF export and bilingual abstracts.

Academic Paper Reviewer

Five independent reviewers: an editor-in-chief for the overall decision, three peers for methodology, theory and experiment design, plus a Devil’s Advocate.

Academic Pipeline

A ten-stage workflow with quality gates:

The design worth borrowing

Use process to fight hallucination. ARS forces a claim-to-source comparison so key statements can be traced back to the literature. Citation checks, fact checks and reviewer roles are all constraints on generated output.

That is more realistic than “make the model smarter”: hallucination does not disappear because of a prompt, but it can be caught by a process.

My take

ARS fits people who already have a clear research question and want to automate literature organisation and format checks. It cannot choose your question, your method or your argument — those remain the researcher’s job.

Also, the repository does not declare a standard license. If you plan to redistribute or use it commercially, ask the author first.
